The centre of our organization, the
DTMP Science and Technology Park of Debrecen, Nonprofit Public Benefit Limited, is in
Debrecen, the second city of
Hungary. Debrecen, the centre of Hajdú-Bihar county and the Northern Great Plain region, is situated in the northeastern part of
Hungary at a distance of 240 km from
Budapest, the capital of the country. The city can be accessed easily via motorway (freeway) and by train, and has an airport as well.
Debrecen has about 200,000 inhabitants. It possesses a long and rich history, and is a lively cultural, scientific and industrial centre today. Its
university has nearly 1,400 teachers and altogether 29,000 students, the future doctors, scientists, engineers, teachers, artists, arts experts, economists and jurists. This is the potential on which our organization, the
DTMP Science and Technology Park of Debrecen, Nonprofit Public Benefit Limited, relies.
Debrecen and its environment represent a very special slice of the Hungarian traditions. The national park
Hortobágy is 48 km away from
Debrecen, and still retained the ancient traditions of shepherd's life. The famous spa,
Hajdúszoboszló, can be reached by a several-minute drive from
Debrecen.
